What Melbourne suburbs do you provide locksmith services to?
We service all locations in and around Melbourne Metropolitan. We do this in one of our fully equipped mobile service vans. If you are not sure if we service your area just call or email us and we will let you know.
How can I pay?
The Lock Guy has Mobile Eftpos Units in our Vans. Methods of Payment are Visa, Mastercard, Eftpos or Cash.
What are your business hours?
We are open 8.30 am to 5.00 pm Monday to Friday.
Do you guarantee your work?
Yes as a Master Locksmith our workmanship is guaranteed and most Locks have a 12 month warranty.
When should I call a Master Locksmith?
The following are just of the circumstances where you should contact a Master Locksmith:
- You want to professionally secure your home or business
- Locked out of your property
- Locked the keys in your car

What is the difference between a Locksmith and a Master Locksmith?
The following are the main reasons why you should always choose a Master Locksmith:
- They are Members of the Master Locksmiths Association and hold a valid Security Licence
- They are registered businesses that have public liability and professional insurances
- They have approved and registered Qualifications
How do I know which Locksmith to choose?
Always choose a Reputable Master Locksmith whom abides by a strict code of ethics and has public liability insurance. It is best to avoid cheap locksmiths or ones advertising that they do not charge a call out fee.
I've just moved into a new property do I have to replace all my locks?
No, you don’t have to replace all your locks. Instead, we can simply rekey your existing locks to stop the old keys from working and create new keys. This is far more cost effective than replacing your locks.
Can I have a keyless lock fitted to my front door?
Yes, we can remove your existing key lock and supply and fit a digital lock or smart lock. Smart locks can even be opened from your mobile phone.
My key has broken in my lock. What should I do?
Keep the broken part of the key and then give us a call. We will remove the broken key out of the lock and cut a new key using the two broken parts or alternatively we can create
I have a safe that I can't get into. Can you help?
Yes we are able to open safes if you have misplaced the keys and / or forgotten the combination. We also install, service and repair safes.
If I have lost keys to a lock or window locks can you create a new key?
Yes we can simply come out and pick the lock open and cut new keys.
If I have a restricted key can I go to a Keycutter to get more keys cut?
If your key is a true Restricted Key only the authorised signatory and assigned Locksmith can cut more keys. We can identify whether your Key is a genuine Restricted Key by looking at it. Normally they have the Locksmith’s name and number stamped on it.
Do you have a shop that I can visit?
No, we are a Mobile Locksmith in Melbourne where we come to you in one of our Fully equipped Mobile Servicing Vans.
